Hope House is honored to announce its community partnership with Budget Blinds of Northshore! This locally-owned franchise started in 2013 by Greg and Anne Jenkins. In their ten years in the business, they have built a reputation of trust, excellent communication and reliability with all the customers they serve, and have generously given back to the Northshore’s nonprofit community.
We sat down with Erica Poe, Window Covering Consultant, to discuss what supporting Hope House means to the company.
Q: What motivated or compelled Budget Blinds to get involved with Hope House specifically?
A: “We had the pleasure of first meeting the Director of Hope House in 2019 when they contacted us about needing some window coverings. Then a recent opportunity came open for us to consider supporting a local organization. Hope House immediately came to mind because we knew of the work they did for children in our community. It was a no brainer!”
Q: How does it feel to know that you’ve helped empower local children, through your giving, with healing and recovery following trauma?
A: “It is an honor and a blessing to be able to give to such an impactful and heartbreaking organization. As the cliché goes, “pay it forward.” Over the last 10 years, Budget Blinds has focused on giving our customers the best of us in all that we do, and in return, we have been blessed with a continued growing business. It is our heart’s desire to return that blessing back to our community, and what better way than to the children who have been hurt and in need of the kind of support that Hope House gives.”
Q: What is the most striking or impactful thing you’ve noticed about Hope House since starting your relationship with this organization?
A: “Hope House takes every step needed to care for an abused child and does it all under one roof. It was astonishing to learn how in years past (before Hope House existed) how the whole process was poorly handled, as it added to the overall traumatic experience for a child. Hope House condenses that process so that the child feels safe and only needs to go through it once and only at ONE place. From day one when a child walks in the doors, to the last day when their graduation is celebrated, the prime focus and heart of Hope House is all about caring for the whole being of the child.”
Hope House is so grateful for local businesses like Budget Blinds, who have taken a stand in the local fight against child abuse. As always, we encourage our community to support local businesses who support our community’s most vulnerable children.
