Allison Linsten
Professional Advocate
Allison graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences. She also holds a Trauma-Informed Child Advocacy Endorsement. Allison was previously the victim advocate intern at Hope House. After completing her internship, Allison now serves as an administrative assistant and professional advocate for Hope House.
Allison coordinated Hope House's new Youth Advisory Board. The Youth Advisory Board is designed for high school students who are passionate about serving their community and making a positive impact. Students will work alongside Hope House staff and the board of directors to provide a youth perspective on ways to make our center an even more welcoming, child-friendly, and supportive environment for children and teens who have experienced abuse.
Allison hopes more people understand just how common child abuse is, and how important community awareness and prevention are. Through education, Hope House helps equip parents, educators, and community members with the tools to recognize and respond to abuse. Allison is an authorized facilitator of Darkness to Light's Stewards of Children training.
Her passion for helping children and families began at a young age. While studying Human Development and Family Sciences at Mississippi State, Allison was introduced to the work of child advocacy centers and trauma-informed care. Those experiences inspired her to pursue hands-on experience in the field, ultimately leading her to Hope House.
A Mandeville native, Allison enjoys listening to music and spending time with friends and family.
