Christy Atkinson
Director of Finance
As Hope House’s Director of Finance, Christy manages and oversees the fiscal operations. Christy most enjoys sharing Hope House’s mission by spreading child abuse awareness in the Northshore community. When asked about what she likes most about working at Hope House, Christy responded: “Often times kids come in carrying such a weight on their shoulders. As I watch them interact with our staff, put their button in the buttons of bravery bowl, and pick out a teddy bear, I can see that tension start to melt away. One of my favorite parts of my work is helping to create an environment of peace and safety where the kids can be kids again. It’s a blessing to be part of a movement focused on restoring hope to kids who need it most.”
Christy holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Louisiana State University and a Master of Science in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California. Born and raised on the Northshore, Christy lives in Mandeville with her husband, daughter, and two dogs and enjoys riding her bike on the Tammany Trace and baking sourdough breads.
